Technical Tip: Import specific FortiClient VPN profile without losing other VPN profiles

| Solution | As per the below screenshot, currently, there is only one profile configured 'LDAPS-FGT': Solution: - Create a backup file of the current FortiClient configuration: Backing up the full configuration file.
To back up the full configuration file: - Go to Settings.
- Under System, select Backup.
- Select the file destination.
- Enter a password to save the file in an encrypted format with a password.
- Select OK.
- Similarly, create a backup file of the FortiClient from which the profile will be imported.
- Open both the files with Notepad, as below:
In the left notepad file, there is profile 'LDAPS-FGT', and in the left notepad file, there is profile 'Imported-Profile'. - Copy the configuration part from to (from the config file that is desired to be imported into the profile).
- Locate and in the next line, paste the configuration below the existing one.
- Save the config file and restore it in the FortiClient: Restoring the full configuration file.
- Go to Settings.
- Expand the System, and select Restore.
- Locate and select the file.
- If the configuration was protected with a password, a password text box displays. Enter the password used to encrypt the backup configuration file.
- Select OK.
- Profile has been imported successfully:
